Hermione was studying an unusual spell in the library.
Ron glanced over and asked,
“What does that one do?”
Hermione smiled.
“It makes people tell the truth.”
Ron immediately closed his book.
Hermione looked confused.
“What’s wrong?”
Ron replied,
“Nothing. I’m just suddenly very comfortable with silence.”
Hermione narrowed her eyes.
“Why would a truth spell bother you?”
Ron shrugged.
“It wouldn't.”
Hermione pointed her wand at him.
“Interesting answer.”
Ron quickly said,
“Actually, I have several perfectly innocent reasons.”
Hermione raised an eyebrow.
“Such as?”
Ron started counting on his fingers.
“I may have eaten your chocolate.”
Hermione stared at him.
“And?”
Ron sighed.
“I may have told Harry you were going to quiz us tonight.”
Hermione crossed her arms.
“And?”
Ron looked at the ceiling.
“I may have said your handwriting looks terrifying when you're angry.”
Hermione smiled sweetly.
Ron immediately grabbed his books.
“On second thought, maybe we should discuss this somewhere without magic.”
Hermione laughed.
“Ron, the spell hasn't even been cast.”
Ron froze.
“Exactly. And I would like to keep it that way.”
